Celebrating Fashion Photography Richard Avedon

Its that time of year to be grateful, for all of the people in our lives, including those who inspire us. Richard Avedon is known to have shaped the world of fashion and created America's image of style (as was written on his obituary when he died back in 2004. His career spanned over sixty years in which he captured minimalistic yet large scale photographs that took the industry by storm. Shooting for the likes of Vogue and Harpers Bazaar it's no wonder that he is the genius creator of one of the worlds most expensive photographs.

​Worth $1,151,976, 'Dovima with Elephants' was taken Christian Diors 1955 collection. The eery contrast between the supermodels youth and elegance against the aged, wrinkled elephants. Despite the addition of the stunning Dovima and the circus elephants, the dress, somehow, still remains the focal point. ​
